Gold Standard
In September 2024, Verst Carbon joined forces with Gold Standard as one of five companies participating in the pilot phase of the Gold Standard Carbon Market Training Network. This global initiative is designed to strengthen local expertise in carbon markets and carbon finance, particularly in regions where access to these markets is limited.
Africa Food Changemakers
The Building Resilience Against Climate and Environmental Shocks (BRACE) program, led by Africa Food Changemakers and supported by Verst Carbon, is a capacity development initiative designed to support agripreneurs—small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the agribusiness sector—by helping them recognize how their businesses are affected by climate change.
UNEP-FI
In October 2023, Verst Carbon, in collaboration with UNEP – Finance Initiative, facilitated a capacity-building program in support of the Kenyan government’s #15BillionTrees initiative which is part of the government’s broader effort to plant 3 billion trees, focuses on using tree plantations as a means for carbon sequestration.
UNEP-FI (E-Mobility)
Verst Carbon, in collaboration with the UNEP Finance Initiative (UNEP-FI), facilitated a capacity-building program aimed at e-mobility companies in Kenya. This program was designed to equip participants with a comprehensive understanding of carbon markets and how e-mobility solutions can generate carbon credits.
Strathmore University
In November 2023, Verst Carbon, in collaboration with Strathmore University, hosted a comprehensive five-day training program on Africa’s carbon markets. The initiative brought together over 50 participants, including environmental stewards, policy analysts, entrepreneurs, financial strategists, and academic experts.
HDC Zimbabwe
This initiative aims to empower Zimbabwe’s agricultural communities by enhancing their engagement in the carbon market. Spearheaded by Verst Carbon, the project focuses on helping farmers and agricultural stakeholders understand and tap into carbon offset opportunities.
DEIB 2023
From September 2023 to February 2024, Verst Carbon facilitated a comprehensive Sustainability Workshop for DEIB in Kenya, designed to build capacity among corporate professionals on managing and reducing emissions across their value chains.
E-mobility Training – Siemens Stiftung
Verst Carbon, in collaboration with the Africa E-Mobility Alliance (AfEMA), is delivering a comprehensive training program on carbon markets and climate financing for e-mobility entrepreneurs in Kenya. . Key areas covered include carbon finance, ITMOs, and relevant methodologies under the Paris Agreement.
Assessing the Feasibility of Carbon Credit Projects for Aquarech and J'Palm
Verst Carbon is tasked with providing technical assistance to GSMA-funded projects Aquarech, focused on cold chain solutions, and J’Palm, specializing in biochar, to explore the feasibility of developing carbon projects within the Voluntary Carbon Market (VCM).
