Advancing Solar Productive Use Appliances with Carbon Finance in Kenya

We had the privilege of hosting an enlightening workshop to share pivotal findings from a comprehensive study conducted by Verst Carbon in collaboration with GreenMax Capital Group. The goal of the assignment was to develop a strategic roadmap to integrate carbon credit financing into Kenya’s Productive Use Appliance (PUA) sector, particularly emphasizing solar-powered technologies like irrigation systems, cold chain solutions, and processing equipment—including solar-powered maize milling.

The session served as a dynamic platform for industry innovators to showcase their cutting-edge solutions and discuss how carbon financing can bridge the affordability gap for consumers, making these technologies more accessible. A heartfelt thank you to Agsol, A2EI SERVICES, KliK Foundation, Adili Solar Hubs Limited, and the Verst Carbon dMRV team for their invaluable contributions and for sharing their wealth of knowledge.

An engaging panel discussion, expertly moderated by our CEO Nyangena Brian, capped off the event. The panel delved into how advancements in solar PUAs, supported by carbon finance, can drive transformative impacts across the market, steering us toward a greener and more sustainable future. We would like to express our deepest appreciation to our panelists— Karlijn Groen, David Ekabouma, David Lubanga, Yannick Träris-Kahriman, and Mahlon Walo—for sharing their expertise and invaluable insights. A big thank you to Efficiency for Access for entrusting us with this assignment and for taking the initiative to spearhead this pertinent discussion, and to everyone who contributed to this impactful workshop.
